Volunteer with Us – Fun, Engaging, and Rewarding! Are you ready to make a difference while having fun? As a Family Engagement Volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to play with children & create lasting memories. It’s all about creating a positive, safe, and enjoyable environment where the kids can thrive – and the more we work together, the more fun we’ll have! Key Responsibilities: Engage with children: Play, interact, and engage in fun activities with children of all ages. Whether it’s playing games, doing crafts, or simply offering a kind word, your time and attention make a difference! Ensure a clean and safe environment: Help keep the playing areas tidy and free from clutter to ensure a safe and enjoyable space for the children. Assist staff as needed: Work alongside the YMCA staff, following their guidance and instructions. They’ll be there to support you and help with any questions or challenges. Promote a positive experience: Greet children warmly, and help make every child feel welcomed and cared for during their time in our programs. Support children's needs: Alert staff if a child needs assistance, you'll be there to lend a helping hand, but staff will handle the more specific care tasks. Be part of the fun: You’re not just a volunteer – you’re a key part of creating an exciting, friendly atmosphere where kids are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow. Why Volunteer? The EmergeOrtho 5K is a celebration of our Girls on the Run, Heart & Sole, and STRIDE participants year end accomplishments! This fun and festive atmosphere brings us all together to celebrate friends, family and wellness! Proceeds from the YMCA's EmergeOrtho 5K help provide much needed scholarships to these programs. Over 40% of our Girls on the Run and STRIDE participants utilize financial assistance. Volunteers will be needed to assist with set up, tear down, water stations and other needs.
